SURGICAL AND PERIOPERATIVE SUPPORT

The LDI-ARC procedure rooms are equipped with isoflurane anesthetic machines and heated recovery chambers.
Some rooms are also provided with circulating hot water pads, surgical microscopes, and radiant heat lamps.

Researchers must supply their own surgical equipment and any special instruments.
The LDI-ARC staff can provide care for surgical patients following invasive procedures and for patients with spontaneous
lesions requiring care.

Available perioperative care includes administration of analgesic drugs, antibiotics, or subcutaneous fluids. Veterinary consultation
is available and is recommended.

RADIOGRAPHY AND IRRADIATION SUPPORT

The LDI-ARC staff can provide nursing support to animals pre- and post-irradiation.


SUBSTANCE ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT

The LDI-ARC staff can assist with, or perform, substance infusion or injection into animals. Included are subcutaneous, IV, IP,
or IM injections or gavage.
