Researchers

Dr. Howard Chertkow, Director, is a cognitive neurologist whose clinical and research work both centre around Alzheimer's Disease and dementia.

Dr. Chantal Autexier’s laboratory is interested in understanding the mechanism of action of telomerase and its regulation, in mammalian organisms.

Dr. Howard Bergman, currently head of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at McGill, is a leader in the field of developing health services delivery for the elderly.

Dr. Andrea LeBlanc’s research investigates the mechanisms responsible for the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases in aging individuals.

Dr. Hemant Paudel's research program is to elucidate the molecular mechanism of tau phosphorylation in normal brain and to determine how this regulation fails in Alzheimer's disease brain, resulting in the paired helical filaments which are the major structural component of neurofibrillary tangles.

Dr. Hyman Schipper’s research efforts, since 1976, have been largely concentrated at the intersections of Neuroendocrinology, Brain Aging, Oxidative Stress and Neurodegenerative Disease.
