The LDI Trainee Committee (LDITC) is a trainee-led committee representing the needs, interests, and perspectives of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research (LDI).
Our mission is to foster a supportive and inclusive training environment while helping LDI trainees build the skills, connections, and experiences they need to succeed both within and beyond academia. We serve as a bridge between trainees and LDI leadership, while creating opportunities for professional growth, community building, and career development.
Throughout the year, we organize a diverse range of academic, professional, and social initiatives. These include research and professional development workshops, career development activities, networking events, roundtable discussions with experts from academia and industry, and opportunities for trainees to connect with professionals working across a range of career paths.
We also organize events that support scientific communication and peer-to-peer learning, including our annual LDI Summer Conference, where trainees can present and discuss their research in a welcoming environment with their peers and members of the LDI community. In addition, we offer social and wellness initiatives that help strengthen the LDI trainee community, as well as a French tutoring program to give opportunities to students and staff to incorporate into Quebec’s society.
