Stéphane Richard’s laboratory has a long-standing interest in fields of cancer and neuroscience. The research is aimed at understanding the roles of arginine methylation, RNA binding proteins and DNA damage signaling in diseases such as cancer and neurological diseases.

Major Research Activities

Targeting arginine methylation in cancer (breast, melanoma and leukemia) and defining its substrates.

The specific research areas in the laboratory include:

  • Defining the role of protein arginine methylation inhibitors in cancer immunotherapy.
  • The role of RNA helicases in regulating R-loops or DNA:RNA loops to prevent genomic instability.
  • The role of RNA binding proteins in neurological diseases.
